Speechless!

Yes - I've lost my voice! My darling Grandson shared his Xmas germs with me and I'm now suffering with Laryngitis!

"Great" some would say - "a bit of peace and quiet" but considering the Pantomime opens on Thursday the timing couldn't be much worse. "Oh no it couldn't"

As well as being literally speechless I was amazed to find that I've managed to get a doctor's appointment at midday today (yes on a Saturday!) - my daughter phoned the surgery just after 9.30am. This took two attempts as I gave her the telephone number for the local radio station by mistake!

Hopefully I'll get started on some antibiotics later today. Unfortunately the chemists all close between 12 and 2 so it'll mean another trip out into the damp air. Never mind at least I didn't have to wait until Monday.

Ah well - no New Year's celebrations for me then! :(

I hope my blogfriends are all well and had a lovely Christmas? Roll on 2008!

Still humming and ah-ing. We aren't due to start until 3pm so I'll decide at the last minute. We are in the theatre for the first time so it's quite crucial. Although my voice is returning I don't intend saying my lines - I'll just go through the movements etc.

A couple more days on the anti-inflamitory tablets will hopefully sort me out.

Thanks - Doctor says it's a viral infection so I don't need antibiotics. Got some pain killers, medicine and an inhaler. Here's hoping! :)

I'm rather pleased with the photo - they were just following me out of a forest and I simply turned round and snapped them! It was quite spontaneous.

So sorry to read about you losing your voice arnica, and I do hope that all is O K by curtain up.

You could write your lines on big bits of paper then walk to the centre stage and hold them up for all to read, with a translation in French.

Thanks Trevor - went to rehearsals today and I did the movements whilst the MD did my lines. That's it until dress rehearsal on Wednesday afteroon by which time I should have my voice back (fingers crossed).
