As I live in a rural part of France I generally only shop once a week. Yesterday was the day I chose to go shopping. I use the word 'chose' very loosely - the fact of the matter being that I hate shopping but I was 'out' of many basic essentials.
Generally I have a shopping list which I compile as I go along running out of things. I also do a spot of 'freestyle shopping' in case I spot something I might fancy. This week it was a new tee-shirt (a bargain at €8!) and a couple of boxes of 'Bounty' ice cream bars (just in case my grandchildren come to visit!). I bought some tonic water to go with a bottle of gin that needed using up 
- but forgot to buy a lemon! 
Well tonight as I was rooting in the freezer for frozen peas I came across another two boxes of 'Bounty' bars! I guess I'll be having a dessert tonight afterall!
ps It gets better - the two other boxes of Bounty ice cream bars each contain a free bar!!
