I watched a documentary on the tv, about a few months ago, and it was on The Carpenters. She had said that the biggest compliment she ever got was when leaving a restaurant, a man said to her " You've got a smashing singing voice there kid" and it wasn't until she was in her car going home that she realised it was John Lennon. That says it all....
