2nd one, although they are all beautifully taken, but the 2nd one is so real and shows the bee at work

I was lucky to get so many good shots. The flowers were just growing wild at the roadside - I've never seen this sort before.

Last one, I think.
It's very quiet around here, I think all UK residents watching Doctor Who!
la_spice [Member] 2008-07-05 @ 18:37
And some non-UK residents - my Daughter and family will be glued to the screen!

Good point! It is actually very, very quiet all round here, too, now I listen closely! Remarkably so for this time on a Saturday evening.

I'm just nipping to make my supper but I'll be back later (for coffee)
QueeneMab [Member] 2008-07-05 @ 18:35
The top one.
la_spice [Member] 2008-07-05 @ 18:38
We have a split vote - that's interesting
Melinda_blog [Member] 2008-07-05 @ 18:55
I was going to say 2, until I saw 5...
Seems to fill the frame better, somehow.
But hey, whadduino????
la_spice [Member] 2008-07-05 @ 18:58
Now you see my quandary - I tried to pick just one to post here but kept um-ing and ah-ing.
Melinda_blog [Member] 2008-07-05 @ 19:10
I'm assuming this is just the try-out and the pick will go on to photographyblog ![]()
To me, those 2 were outstanding, though.
la_spice [Member] 2008-07-05 @ 19:28
Not at all - I've already put two of these on there along with this one:

Number 4 possibly if you cropped some of the green from the LHS
la_spice [Member] 2008-07-05 @ 19:29
I rather liked the diagonal effect of the green so decided against cropping - but you may be right.
Melinda_blog [Member] 2008-07-05 @ 19:34
You would still get a diagonal effect - it looks rather unbalanced as it is, IMHO, if you don't mind me saying so
la_spice [Member] 2008-07-05 @ 19:45
I'll have a tweak later - thanks it's always good to get another opinion.

I had a 5-legged grasshopper walking up my leg today, but when I reached for the camera he jumped off into the grass.
Hope it wasn't my secateurs that separated him from the other leg

Ooops! I also photographed a strange white/cream spidery thing on this flower. I'm trying to identify it before blogging it.
I have never achieved quality the like of these. I think you missed your vocation earlier in your life and should have been long ago the equivalent of Lord Snowden . David.
la_spice [Member] 2008-07-05 @ 22:07
Which one of these do you like the best?
Try turning images 1 and 2 upside down. These two appear to have good detail and no burnt out portions. Mind that you don't get stung hovering only two inches from these insects. David.

Fun you should suggest turning these two - the idea had crossed my mind.

You're getting really good at this...
Absolutely no idea what the plant is, but the bees obviously like it.
la_spice [Member] 2008-07-06 @ 07:25
Thank you - which one do you think is best?
Usksider pro http://www.usksider.co.uk 2008-07-06 @ 07:33
No 1 for me.... I like the detail.
la_spice [Member] 2008-07-06 @ 07:36
Thanks
