Sorry for the miserable title but I finally managed to watch "that film" last night and I didn't need a hanky. In fact I didn't really enjoy it after all that. I don't think I'd hyped myself up but maybe I had?
There you go - another of life's disappointments 
On the brighter note (despite the gloomy weather) today we begin rehearsals for "Cinderella" oh yes we do!!! So a busy day ahead.

That's a very good point - I agree that it made you think and can see it could help someone with the grieving process. Many widowed people 'glorify' their memories of their lost one and cannot move on to new relationships so from that point of view it was good.
and that is why people rave about the film..they have translated it into there own version...when ever people have said they have seen it again they seem dissapointed...they dont understand that it is not the film that they turned it into...i for one loved it but i dare not see it again because i like my version.
bit like sliding doors i think.

I've been wanting to watch it for ages - it's one of those films that people rave about and gasp when you say "oh I have never watched it"

I don't remember watching it either. I checked Wikipedia and the plot was explained. I like the basic idea of it, but then, I believe in psychic stuff and in "ghosts" and spirits.

Yes - the basic idea was good - but somehow it didn't "do it" for me.

I've lost count of the films I have been disappointed with!
Guy Ritchies films for instance. Lock, stock was the best film I'd seen for ages and still love to watch it over and over but anything after that....forget it! Revolver was raved about when it first hit the screens. We walked out as it was just dire!

it was a long time ago that I watched it,
but I loved it, and it made me cry!!
but then I like stuff that is a little quirky and thoughtful.

Nope. Even though French is one of our official languages. My children are bilingual as they were educated via the French Immersion education stream...

trouble is that people rave on about a film so much that they pet it way above what it was ..as for TMD i don't think it was the actual film that was so good but where it took people in there minds..(if that makes sense).
