Homework!

I can't do it! I simply cannot roll my Rs

I've had to spend time doing homework with Aimee. Her homework book says:

Travailler le son [r]. Lui dicter des syllabes qu'il ecrit avec les etiquettes des sons. Syllabes: etiquettes + livre p39

For this exercise I have to say words containing the letter "r" and she has to make the word with cut out letters (etiquettes). My Rs just won't roll!!!

Mind you her reading must becoming on - she's just looked over my shoulder and said "why are you writing my homework?"

Well I'm doing spellings tonight (thankfully in english).

  It's so frustrating how can she be expected to spell the word if I can't pronounce it properly and why did it have to be "r" this week? !!!!

I know Jade was asking, if the words she had underlined were verbs "ERM??"

Pretend you are a cat purring it is a similar sound. Once you have mastered that you will be able to roll your r's

Rs are so difficult in every language. I struggle with the German phlegm-cough R, and I struggled with the exotic Italian R too. Don't even want to think about them in other languages...

I can't roll my rrrrr's properly either.. one of my old French teachers at school (yes - we are talking ancient history here) said I sounded like I was drowning when I tried..... I haven't spoken much French since then, except for a 3 day trip to Paris 3 years ago, where I reduced a very patient waiter to tears of laughter.... Vive la France!!
